The Verbeeck - Back brewery has been around since the end of the 19th century, when it became one of the most beloved independent breweries in the northern region of Belgium.

The brewery has always been a family affair. No monks or big corporations have ever laid their hands on the company. Recipes were passed on from father to son, right up to the sixties. During the summer of love, the brewery dozed off for… well, let’s call it a long nap.

In 2015, the currents heirs of the Verbeeck Back family joined hands with the De Cock family. Together, they formed a new company under the moniker Verbeeck Back De Cock, VBDCK in short. This new generation of beer brewers dug up history by its roots to create KEREL, a no- nonsense beer, with a strong focus on craft and quality, not some made up marketing story.  

This led to a brand identity that literally cuts through all the BS. Cliché marketing phrases are crossed out, the beer says it all.
